SoftIron’s HyperDrive Storage Manager Radically Simplifies the Usability of Open Source Ceph
London, UK – (May 26, 2020) – SoftIron Ltd., the leader in task specific data center appliances, announced today that it will, for the first time, be demonstrating its HyperDrive Management Tool V1.0 release which radically simplifies the deployment and management of Ceph – the leading open-source software defined storage platform. The demo will showcase SoftIron’s feature-rich management tool which abstracts away much of the complexity of working with Ceph, providing a powerful and simple interface for system administrators to remotely manage their HyperDrive storage clusters as an integrated software and hardware system. The DCD Tech Showcase will kick off in the North American region on June 2nd, and take place in EMEA and APAC regions in subsequent weeks.

During the showcase, SoftIron will demonstrate the sleek graphical user interface that replaces Ceph’s native command-line configuration and unique integration of hardware configuration and management of the HyperDrive storage appliances on which Ceph is deployed. The ease and simplicity that the HyperDrive Management Tool brings to administering Ceph based HyperDrive storage infrastructure delivers a true Enterprise class, yet still open source, experience.

- The auto discovery wizard that powers, locates, and configures each appliance, enabling true out-of-the-box usability and enabling admins to set up a new cluster in minutes
- Exact failed disc location and visualization
- Ease of adding or removing appliances from the cluster
- Ease of adding or removing storage pools
- Ease of updating firmware
- Search and filter to reveal the individual appliance task
- Configuration lock-out to enable transparency and prevent multiple admin overlap
