End-of-Life Policy
SoftIron, Ltd. and its subsidiaries
25-JUNE-2024
Purpose
All products reach the end of their life cycle for several reasons, including technology innovation and market changes, development-driven changes, or product maturity and replacement with functionally richer technology. In addition, supplier changes may influence or drive a decision about a product’s life cycle. Even so, SoftIron recognizes that end-of-life (EOL) milestones often prompt companies to revisit the impact on the SoftIron products or support agreements. With that in mind, we have set out below SoftIron End of Life milestones to help manage EOL transitions and to explain the role that SoftIron can play in helping to migrate to alternative SoftIron technology.
Scope
SoftIron’s End of Life Policy (“Policy”) applies to all SoftIron hardware, software, and support agreements (collectively “Products”) that have a unique product SKU. This policy supersedes any prior verbal or non-formalized statements prior to the publishing of this policy. In addition, as time passes, SoftIron may update, revise or replace this policy.
For hardware products, SoftIron will support the latest release of firmware and software required to properly operate those products. For software products, the latest release is supported by SoftIron. During a support event, the customer may be requested to upgrade to the latest release in order to maintain a supported product. SoftIron will support firmware and software for all hardware products until the Last Date of Support (LDOS).
Definitions
For purposes of this policy, the following definitions apply:
- End of Life (EOL)
- A process that guides the final business operations associated with the SoftIron Product life cycle. The end-of-life process consists of a series of technical and business milestones and activities that, once completed, make a Product obsolete. Once obsolete, the Product will not be sold, licensed, improved, maintained, or supported by SoftIron.
- End of Sale (EOS)
- The Product is no longer offered for sale by SoftIron.
- EOL Notification
- A notice published by SoftIron in which the end of sale and the end-of-life milestones for a Product is communicated to the public.
- Last Date of Support (LDOS)
- The last date to receive support as entitled by active service contracts for covered SoftIron hardware and software. After this date, support is no longer available from SoftIron.
